As the Wilmington Children’s Chorus prepares to resume our cultural exchange with the youth orchestra from our sister city of Fulda, Germany, our Performing and Neighborhood Choirs will celebrate the music of our two cultures. German/Austrian selections will feature the music of Schubert and Brahms, while American selections will highlight diverse contemporary composers, including Brandon Boyd, Brazeal Dennard, Victor Johnson, John Leavitt, and Joseph Martin. The choir will be joined by Founding Artistic Director, David Christopher on organ and piano.

Join the Wilmington Children’s Chorus Neighborhood Choirs for their site-based performances throughout the month of May. These choirs will present songs and classroom music activities that showcase the learning the next generation of great musicians is receiving in their neighborhoods! Concerts will be held at Kingswood Community Center, Browns Boys and Girls Club, and Las Americas Aspira Academy. Admission is free.

Peace Week Performance with the Red Blanket Singers

The Wilmington Children’s Chorus and Native group, The Red Blanket Singers, presented a unique “informance” during Delaware’s Peace Week! Members of the Wilmington Children’s Chorus Performing Choirs celebrated the songs and artistry of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape people and audience members learned about the history, culture, and rich musicality of this Tribal Nation.
A Soulful Holiday

Audience members got in the spirit of the season with A Soulful Holiday! All five ensembles of the Performing Choirs and members of our Neighborhood Choirs presented everyone’s favorite holiday hits from the ‘50s to the ‘90s. The concert featured songs made famous by Mariah Carey, Donny Hathaway, Al Green & Annie Lennox, the Jackson 5, Darlene Love, Stevie Wonder, and more. WCC brought the house down alongside some of the area’s top instrumentalists, including Luke Abruzzo on guitar, Dennis Fortune on piano, Rob Swanson on bass, and Jonathan Whitney on percussion.

“Holiday at the Hotel” with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra

The Wilmington Children’s Chorus will join the Delaware Symphony Orchestra for this charming holiday event held in the Gold Ballroom of the Hotel DuPont. Featuring Vaughan-Williams: Fantasia on Greensleeves, Mozart: Symphony No. 29, and select choristers on Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols.

Join WCC for 24 hours of your favorite holiday songs, carols, prizes, and more! This virtual fundraiser is held entirely through Facebook and will feature solos by our choristers and staff, as well as exciting auction prizes!
MLK Day of Service Performance at the Delaware Art Museum
January 16, 2023, at 10:15 a.m.
Support the community by participating in service projects on MLK Day. Participants will have the opportunity to hear a performance by the Wilmington Children’s Chorus Select and Tenor Bass Choirs, create a “Share Your Dreams” poster with a local artist, glaze pottery for a city food bank, and enjoy the beautiful art exhibitions at the museum.

with the Westminster Symphonic Choir

WCC audiences experienced the world-renowned Westminster Symphonic Choir! Recognized as one of the world’s leading choral ensembles, the Westminster Symphonic Choir has recorded and performed with major orchestras under virtually every internationally acclaimed conductor of the past several decades. WCC’s Select Choir joined the Symphonic Choir on select movements of Orff’s Carmina Burana in the George Washington Ballroom (Trenton, NJ).
