PERFORMING ENSEMBLES
Preparatory Choir rehearses Sundays, 5-6 p.m.
Preparatory (“Prep”) Choir is our new entry-level ensemble for singers ages 6+. Our Prep Choir will combine musical play, exploration, and beginning choral repertoire to prepare your child for their musical future! Students will learn songs from around the world and share their new talents in both informal and formal performances at least twice a year.
Youth Choir I & II rehearse Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m., extension to 7:30 for Youth Choir II
Youth Choirs I and II are ensembles for treble singers ages 8 +. Rehearsals focus on building music literacy and the study of varied 1- and 2-part repertoire. Youth Choirs I and II will each perform at least twice a year. Beginning and intermediate singers will find this to be a welcoming, challenging, and fun experience.
Select Choir rehearses Sundays, 5:45-7:00 p.m.
Select Choir provides an opportunity for the treble singer who is looking to grow to a high level of skill and artistry. Select Choir focuses on vocal growth, improved musicianship, and appropriately challenging repertoire. Select Choir performs frequently in both WCC’s self-produced concerts and in featured collaborations. All members of Select Choir participate in Concert Choir.
Tenor Bass Choir rehearses Sunday, 5:45-7:00 p.m.
Tenor-Bass Choir (TBC) is designed for tenors and basses with changing or changed voices. The weekly rehearsal addresses the technical issues of the changing voice, musicianship training, and the performance of vocal repertoire appropriate to the age and range of the singers. All members of TBC participate in Concert Choir.
Concert Choir rehearses Sundays, 7-8 p.m.
Concert Choir is a four-part SATB choir comprised of the members of the Tenor-Bass and Select Choirs.
Chamber Choir rehearses Tuesdays, 7:15-8:45 p.m. & Sundays, 8:00-8:45 p.m.
Chamber Choir is the most selective ensemble, comprised of our most advanced and committed choristers. Participation in Select Choir or Tenor-Bass Choir & Concert Choir is a requirement for this ensemble.
