Like all arts organizations, WCC has been deeply affected by the global pandemic and subsequent stay-at-home orders.
Our top priority will always be our community’s health and safety. For that reason, WCC has ceased in-person instruction. We will continue fulfilling our mission through virtual programming.
While in-person rehearsals and live performances aren’t an option, we remain committed to empowering young people to change their world through music. In a matter of days, our staff pivoted to online instruction, creating and collecting over one hundred study tracks, videos, and recordings to aid in distance learning. We developed and launched our Virtual Neighborhood Choir to reach youth and their families all across our region. We stood outside in the rain and wind wearing masks to distribute music to families who could not print the music at home. We created online social activities and began virtual rehearsals with all 140 members of our Performing Choirs. And we’re just getting started!
We know this is an uncertain and uncommon time. Through it all, we want you to know that your WCC family is here for you. We will see each other again soon. Keep singing!
