The Wilmington Children's Chorus is made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency committed to promoting and supporting the arts in Delaware.

You can support the Wilmington Children's Chorus in many ways.

The Wilmington Children’s Chorus is an independent community project in partnership with Cityfest, Inc., and the City of Wilmington’s Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Tina Betz, Director.

The Delaware Division of the Arts and many individual private and corporate sponsors and benefactors also support the Wilmington Children’s Chorus.

Last season the WCC launched The Friends of the Wilmington Children’s Chorus. This group consists of parents and members of the community committed to the growth and stability of the Wilmington Children’s Chorus. The group plays a critical role in the organization.

A Video: The Benefits of Being in a Choir

Many are drawn to choral singing because they have a desire to participate in the communal expression, creation, and performance of beautiful music. Choral singing is a thriving and growing form of artistic expression in America, and advances many positive qualities in children and adults.

This piece originally aired on Sunday, June 14, 2009 on CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. To see this video larger, click on the YouTube icon above.

Supporters of the Wilmington Children's Chorus

We're thrilled to report that The Cabaret Concert and Silent Auction in March, 2010, raised a total of $7,461.75! The standing-room audience was entertained by a wide array of soloists and ensemble pieces that featured choristers from all of our ensembles.

Over 60 items were donated from individuals and community businesses, and more than 50 individuals volunteered their time to help make the event run smoothly. We would like to extend a deep and sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success! These funds will help underwrite the material costs of music and uniform expenses for the WCC choristers.

Please show your appreciation to these generous sponsors by patronizing their businesses and sharing with them your awareness of their support to the youth of our community.
