Ensembles and Staff

Rehearsals

Preparatory Ensemble (P) rehearses Wednesdays,
5:25–6:15 p.m.

The Preparatory Ensemble is a non-performing ensemble that addresses the educational needs of the beginning singer. These classes introduce students to the basics of musicianship such as how to use the voice, how to hear music, how to read music, and how to develop appropriate behavior as a chorister.

Youth Choir (Y) rehearses Wednesdays,
5:25–6:55 p.m.

The Youth Choir is a new ensemble for treble singers ages 8-18. This group will meet on Wednesdays from 5:25-6:55. Rehearsals will focus on building music literacy and the study of varied 1- and 2-part repertoire. The Youth Choir will perform at least 2 times a year. Singers of all ages and skill levels will find this to be a welcoming, challenging and fun experience.

Saturdays,
9:25–10:30 a.m.

The Select Choir will provide an outlet for the treble singer who is looking to grow to a very high level of skill and artistry. The Select Choir will sing challenging music and perform more frequently. They will be the ensemble that represents the WCC on tour and for special appearances. The increased difficulty of repertoire, high artistic standard and frequency of performing will demand a significant commitment on the part of its members.

Young Men’s Ensemble (YME) rehearses
Saturdays, 9:25–10:30 a.m.

The Young Men’s Ensemble is designed for boys with changing or changed voices. This weekly rehearsal will address the technical issues of the changing voice, the study of solfeggio and musicianship, and the performance of vocal repertoire appropriate to the age and range of the singers.

Chamber Choir (C) rehearses
Saturdays, 10:30–11:30 a.m.

Chamber Choir, is a four-part SATB choir comprised of select members of the Young Men’s Ensemble and Select Choir.

Small Group rehearses
Saturdays, 11:30–12:00 Noon
