PERFORMING ENSEMBLES


Youth Choir I rehearses Wednesdays, 5:25-6:25 p.m.
Youth Choir II rehearses Wednesdays, 5:25-6:55 p.m.

The Youth Choirs I and II are ensembles for treble singers ages 8 +. Rehearsals focus on building music literacy and the study of varied 1- and 2-part repertoire. The Youth Choirs I and II will each perform at least twice a year. Singers of all ages and skill levels will find this to be a welcoming, challenging, and fun experience.


Select Choir rehearses Wednesdays, 6:55–8:30 p.m. and Sundays, 5:55-7:00 p.m.

The Select Choir provides an opportunity for the treble singer who is looking to grow to a very high level of skill and artistry. The Select Choir sings challenging music and performs more frequently. The increased difficulty of repertoire, high artistic standards, and frequency of performing demand a significant commitment on the part of its members.


Young Men’s Ensemble rehearses Sundays, 5:55-7:00 p.m.

The Young Men’s Ensemble is designed for boys with changing or changed voices. The weekly rehearsal addresses the technical issues of the changing voice, the study of solfeggio and musicianship, and the performance of vocal repertoire appropriate to the age and range of the singers.


 

Concert Choir rehearses Sundays, 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Concert Choir is a four-part SATB choir comprised of selected high school members of the Young Men’s Ensemble and the Select Choir. Members of Select Choir and Young Men’s Ensemble participate in Concert Choir upon invitation of the WCC directors.


Chamber Choir rehearses Sundays, 8:00 – 8:45 pm

Chamber Choir is comprised of high school members who have demonstrated a strong commitment to vocal growth and music literacy, Chamber Choir is the most selective ensemble of the WCC. Members who are interested must audition and be selected by the directors to participate.
